20's, 30's Silk Chiffon Flapper Dress Beautiful late 20's or early 30's sheer lemon yellow dress with a red/brown leaf print. It has a drop waist and the skirt is cut on the bias. The sleeves float free adding an extra feminine touch. Comes with it's original featherweight cotton underslip. Condition: The dress is in very good to excellent condition with some faint light brown edge water staining under the arms, on the skirt and on one sleeve. There are also a couple of very faint brown spots (all, including the water stains, should come out with a cleaning). The only hole is 1/8" on the skirt and there is an area of small pulls on the back of the bodice. The underslip is in fair to good condition. There is a 1 1/2" tear below one strap where it attaches to the bodice, a 1" frayed area on the top edge on the back of the bodice and two 1/4" frayed holes plus two 1/16" frayed holes on the back of the bodice. The material still seems sound so I do not think it is shattering. The straps have been altered considerably, pinned, tacked and gathered. Please note: there is not a side opening on either the dress or underslip. They are meant to be pulled on over the head. |
